Dinshah Irani was born in the second half of the 19th century in Bombay, India.  His parents having migrated to Bombay  from Iran to escape religious persecution faced difficulties in settling in their new environment. Dinshah, who studied to become a very capable attorney at Law, was instrumental in instituting community infrastructure to help new Irani arrivals to Bombay.  Besides heading the community associations he helped to find, he was a well accomplished linguist who translated the Gathas of Zarasthushtra into English.  A well respected Zarathushtrian religion scholar, Dinshah's writing are all very well acclaimed.
