Martin
Haug Ph.D.,
Professor of Sanskrit and Comparative philosophy at
the University of Munich, a German linguist, traveled to India during the second half of the
nineteenth century to study the language and religious scriptures of the Parsis.
He lived in India for over ten years and on his return to Europe planned to
publish his studies in a comprehensive work on the Zoroastrian Religion; his
untimely death shattered such a magnificent goal.
